Repair Notices
In order to have your PlayStation serviced, you must call Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE / PLAYSTATION) at 1-800-345-SONY (7669) to obtain a Case ID Number. Alternatively, a service request can be processed through the PlayStation website.
Voided Warranties
Warranty will be void if the Serial Number is missing or has been removed.
Warranty will be void if the serial number sticker is missing or has been removed.
Warranty will be void if the Serial Number and/or the Warranty Void sticker is missing or have been removed.
Warranty will be void if both the external Barcode and Serial Number are missing or have been removed.
All systems with a voided warranty can still be serviced as Out of Warranty units, however charges will apply. See the Pricing chart below for more details.
Service Notes
- Units with illegal modifications and a missing serial number will not be serviced
- MTC is not responsible for any loss of data or media. The customer is responsible for backing up their own hard drive (if applicable)
- Once the unit has been assessed, it is MTC’s discretion whether the unit will be repaired or exchanged
- MTC offers a 90-day Warranty on repairs.
- MTC cannot sell parts for PlayStation repair
- The following PS3 models are no longer eligible for service: CECHA01, CECHG01, CECHE01, CECHE01MG, CECHH01, CECHK01, CECHL01 & CECHP01
Shipping Information
Please obtain a valid Case ID# from SIE prior to delivering your PlayStation product to MTC.
When shipping to MTC for either Warranty or Out of Warranty units, our customers have two options.
Live in the area?
Customers located in Whitby ON or the surrounding area have the option to either drop off or ship their unit directly to MTC.

Live outside our area?
For PlayStation service, SIE will make the arrangements to have MTC send the customer a box to use to safely transport the unit. With this box, they can ship their unit into MTC using the prepaid Purolator waybill supplied to them. Please ensure to use the supplied packaging. Sony Interactive Entertainment will not accept any Warranty units damaged through shipping because the customer did not properly package their PlayStation in the box provided. Out of Warranty customers will have their shipping costs included under the Flat Rate pricing.
Customers looking to have their PSP, PSP Go, and PS Vita units serviced have the same shipping options available to them. However, the following changes apply:
- customers are responsible for paying the initial shipping charges, while the return shipping charges are included in the Flat Rate fee
