MTC has pledged $75,000 to kidney care in Whitby and has presented the hospital with their second installment of $25,000 during a holiday gathering on December 21, 2016. The donation will support Lakeridge Health’s dialysis program, on that has recently expanded to include a new transition unit at the Whitby site.

Grandview Kids day at MTC – 2016

Thanks to everyone who came out to shop recently on Grandview Kids Day at the MTC Factory Outlet. With your support, we were able to raise $8,869.15 on December 9th for the Grandview Children’s Centre. Again, thank you very much for the proceeds!

As of October 30th, 2016, Manufacturing and Technology Centre’s (MTC) ISO 9001:2008 (Quality Management Systems) and ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental Management Systems) Intertek ISO certifications will be extended for another 2 years (MTC obtained official Intertek certification in 2010).

As of August 21st, 2016, MTC is proud to announce we have added a third ISO certification, ISO 13485:2003. ISO 13485:2003 is an internationally agreed standard that sets out the requirements for a quality management system specific to the medical devices industry and is relied upon by Health Canada.

These certifications apply to MTC Whitby’s corporate and operations divisions. The MTC Indiana location continues to maintain compliance with the ISO 9001 & 14001 international quality/environmental systems standard, upon which MTC Whitby’s Quality Management System & Environmental Management System is based.

For the second year in a row, MTC once again sponsored and hosted the MTC Show N’ Shine event, part of the Road Legends Cruisers. Great prizes were made available courtesy of the MTC Factory Outlet while a charity BBQ for Grandview Children’s Centre was also hosted, not to mention there were plenty of good looking cars on-site!

Sick Kids Foundation
Howard Humphrey, and his team at the Manufacturing & Technology Centre (MTC) received an award for their fundraising efforts for SickKids Hospital. The MTC Team was the top fundraiser in the Durham Heatwave Beach Volleyball event for SickKids this past summer and raised $8989 for Childhood cancer research. The funds will support SickKids Foundation. MTC is a huge supporter of their community and contribute to countless organizations and efforts. Congratulations and thanks to Howard Humphrey and his team!

At a special ceremony on July 11th, 2012, Howard Humphrey (MTC CEO) was honoured with a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal!

Whitby-Oshawa MPP Christine Elliott presented the medals to the recipients for their dedicated service to their peers, their community and Canada.

The recipients outstanding contributions will be recognized with this Diamond Jubilee Medal, and we are fortunate to have them as members of our community.

The prestigious award has been created to mark the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty’s accession to the throne. MPs and MPPs were invited to nominate candidates from their communities for this national honour.
