Support
To facilitate the sales and promotion of
Extended Service Plans for Sony products.
is an Extended Service Plan for Sony audio, video, digital
and professional products.
Extended
Service Plans provide added warranty protection in addition
to the original manufacturer's warranty period.
Only products distributed by Sony of Canada Ltd.
are eligible for
extended warranty (Sony PlayStation products).
To be eligible, products will be less than $20,000 (MSRP)*.
Product bill of sale must always be presented at time
of purchase.
will not
cover costs to repair or maintain equipment used for rental
purposes.
Eligible products must be within the original manufacturer's
limited warranty period.

extended
service plan coverage is an extension of the original manufacturer's
warranty and is bound by the same terms and conditions.
must be
purchased prior to the expiry of the original manufacturer's
warranty period.
coverage
commences upon the expiration of the original Sony manufacturer's
limited warranty and continues for the number of years of
plan coverage purchased.
Manufacturer's limited warranty and
extended warranty coverage periods are based upon purchase
date reflected on the product sales receipt.
may be
purchased for product distributed by Sony of Canada, which
has been received as a gift or has been won as a prize.
A "Statement of Confirmation" must be completed
and attached to the customer's
sales receipt.
Coverage will not exceed 5 years maximum, including
original manufacturer's warranty period. Plasma Display
products and VAIO computer products are only eligible
for maximum 3 years combined coverage.
is GST
taxable, is subject to PST as per the provincial legislation
where the plan is sold.
The customer executes their
warranty coverage through their SONYCARE receipt and Product
receipt.
is valid
only in Canada. Service is provided by Sony Service Centres
or Authorized Sony Service Centres across Canada.
This plan does not cover lamps for LCD projectors
or LCD televisions or batteries.
This plan does not provide coverage to software or firmware.
The program
is fully supported by a bilingual toll free customer support
call centre, at SONY headquarters in Canada named, the CIC
(Customer Information Centre).
plans
are renewable and transferable.
Renewals must be purchased prior to the expiration of
the current
coverage Period. Facilitated by the Call Centre (CIC).
Transfers may be initiated at any point prior to commencement
of a plan,
or during an active
plan. Facilitated by the Call Centre (CIC).
