Oshawa Generals Junior Fan of the Game Prize - 2009/2010 OHL Hockey Season
The Manufacturing & Technology Centre (MTC) has teamed up with the Oshawa Generals OHL hockey team to sponsor the Junior Fan of the Game Prize for the 2009/2010 hockey season. Every game, one lucky junior fan will have the chance to win a refurbished gaming console. The fan will have to show his/her spirit and make an impact on the judges to win the prize! Whitby Sunrise "Great Canadian Steak Cookoff" 2009
Howard Humphrey from the Manufacturing & Technology Centre (MTC) has sponsored Dave Barnes and Family at the Whitby Sunrise "Great Canadian Steak Cookoff". Dave and his Family took home the Gold medal last year, but unfortunately didn't place in the top 3 this year. The event took place on July 25th, 2009. SickKids Foundation - SickKids Volleyball Tournament 2009
For the second year in a row, Howard Humphrey and his teams at the Manufacturing & Technology Centre (MTC) will be receiving an award for their fundraising efforts for SickKids Hospital. This year the MTC teams raised the third most amount of money in the Durham/York Heatwave Beach Volleyball event for SickKids (June 13/09). MTC raised just over $5400 for Childhood cancer research. The funds will support The James Birrell Research Laboratories at SickKids. You can learn more at www.jamesfund.ca/index.html.

Special Olympics - Durham Spring Games 2008

MTC - Special Olympics - Spring Games 2008
MTC has been very active in supporting the Special Olympics Durham Region Spring Games 2008. In 2009, MTC has also sponsored the Bay St Hoops event for Special Olympics as well as the Charity Golf Tournament for Special Olympics (September 28, 2009) at Wooden Sticks Golf Course in Uxbridge, Ontario.


Durham Hospice - Flying High Gala 2009
A VIP event was held on March 18th, 2009 at the Enterprise Air Hangar where Durham Hospice announced its Flying High Gala: taking Durham Hospice to new heights! During the announcement exciting details about the event were disclosed and corporate sponsors were revealed, including a presentation made on site by Howard Humphrey from Manufacturing Technology Centre of $10,000 to Durham Hospice! On May 9th, 2009, Durham Hospice hosted its 1st annual event- “The Flying High Gala” at the Enterprise Air Hangar. Guests were treated to an evening of wonderful food, entertainment, dancing and an impressive array of live and silent auction items.
