Job Title: 12VDC, Audio Video Vehicle Systems Technician

Duties and Responsibilities:
     - Installation and commissioning of video camera systems on public transit vehicles
     - Installation/repair/diagnosing Wi-Fi routers, cabling, and 12vdc systems on highway coaches
     - System diagnostics and troubleshooting skills
     - Installation and removal of all equipment on vehicles
     - Install and repair utility, security and transport vehicles
     - Install and repair a wide range of in-vehicle electronics (i.e. camera systems)
     - Install and repair vehicle mobile data (i.e. GPS, modems)
     - Vehicle repairs that include removing and reinstalling interior trim, retrofitting and upgrading
     - Install emergency equipment into law enforcement/Fire/Fleet/Transit Vehicles
     - Install electrical wiring, connect electrical fittings, drill holes, soldering and perform all physical tasks associated with modifying vehicles for the acceptance of emergency-related equipment
     - Develop wiring routes throughout the vehicle for the most efficient wiring path and enable future replacement and/or troubleshooting
     - Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with equipment as necessary
     - Determines customer requirements to assist in developing labor and cost estimates for quotes
     - Document all services rendered and parts used on Service Ticket for all installations or removals done
     - Maintain an orderly and clean working environment, keeping the installers area organized
     - Complete all required paperwork (service orders, work logs, timecards, etc.)

Physical & Working Conditions:
     - Stand and sit for extended periods of time
     - Ability to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 50 lbs
     - In shop environment
     - Ability to work outdoors and repair in all types of weather (i.e. rain, snow, sun, etc)
     - Ability to work a wide range of hours depending on job type
     - Willing to travel all over Ontario (75% of the time)

Qualifications:
     - Marine/RV/Bus experience an asset
     - Network Cabling/Telephone/Audio Video experience an asset
     - Mobile radio experience an asset
     - Good Motor Vehicle Driving Record and Valid G Driver's License
     - Strong troubleshooting skills
     - Prior vehicle installation experience
     - Knowledge of vehicle wiring
     - Able to identify electrical circuits
     - Experience with installation of emergency lighting, modems, GPS, antennas
     - Familiarity with public safety and motor coach vehicle installations is a plus
     - Proficiency with hand tools and power tools
     - Knowledge of 12-volt systems

Requirements:
     - General knowledge of WIFI systems and cabling
     - 310k license or Radio Communications Technician Certificate an asset
     - Marine/RV/Bus experience an asset
     - Network Cabling/Telephone/Audio Video experience an asset
     - Mobile radio experience an asset
     - Experience in Highway Coach installations and electronic repairs an asset
     - Pre-employment Police Background check is mandatory
     - High School Graduate or Equivalent

Job Purpose:
     Reporting to our Technical Supervisor the Biomedical Engineering Technologist will be responsible for performing complex repairs for both the electronic and mechanical functions of medical Ultrasound Transducer Probes in an ESD safe atmosphere.

Duties and Responsibilities:
     - Troubleshoot, repair and conduct tests on all electrical and electronic and mechanical components of medical Ultrasound Transducer Probes
     - Inspect, test, adjust and evaluate incoming electrical, electro-mechanical and electronic components and assemblies to ensure conformance with product specifications and tolerances
     - Install, operate and maintain electrical and electronic equipment and systems
     - Calibrate electrical or electronic equipment and instruments with very limited external documentation and support
     - Assist in the preparation of estimates, schedules, budgets, specifications and reports
     - Identify parts and equipment needed to repair with very limited external documentation available
     - Assist in creating SOP’s for all processes related to Ultrasound Transducers
     - Evaluate incoming work requests to identify and document required repairs for the formulation of an accurate repair quote. Interface with customer service team as needed
     - Assembles and installs various components by soldering, winding, adjusting, gluing, masking and centering under special magnification equipment to exacting tolerances
     - Inspect and test completed repairs using established quality criteria
     - Expected to attain mastery of all steps in the repair and assembly process of medical Ultrasound Transducers
     - Complete all projects on time and within budget

Qualifications:
     - Graduated with a Diploma in Biomedical Engineering
     - Minimum of two years of medical ultrasound transducer troubleshooting and repair experience, including BGA and multi-OEM transducers
     - Must posses a soldering certification (I.P.C.)
     - Must have experience troubleshooting and repairing Ultrasound Probes including, but not limited to; 2D, 3D, 4D & TEE
     - Strong knowledge and working experience in repairing and refurbishing Ultrasound Transducers made by GE, SIEMENS and TOSHIBA would be asset
     - Self-starter, team player and creative and are committed to quality excellence
     - Ability to problem solve and deal with issues in a timely manner
     - Strong experience with fine pitch soldering under microscope
     - Strong experience using electronic testing equipment
     - High degree of eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity
     - Experience using small tools and small item manipulation
     - Excellent written and oral communication
     - Ability to work in a deadline-driven atmosphere and handle multiple projects/tasks with attention to detail
