Warranty only covers manufacturers defect not physical
damage.
MTC requires POP (Proof of Purchase) for warranty. If no
POP can be provided, the manufacturers date on the back of
the monitor is sufficient.
Some monitors have a one year warranty, some have a 3 year
warranty. (Contact MTC Call Centre to see which category your
monitor falls under)
Customer SHOULD call Sony first for tech support at 1-800-961-7669.
Sony will only cover shipping back to the customer, therefore
they have set up various drop off locations where a loaner
unit can also be supplied to a customer.
Customer is responsible for shipping to and from MTC.
Customer must pre-approve the appropriate amount according
to the size of the monitor.
MTC requires either a credit card number or a certified
cheque for the refused estimate charge to show good faith
that customer will pay for estimate.
Depending on the size of the monitor is dependant on the
go ahead pricing setup.
Go ahead pricing is not inclusive of taxes or shipping,
customer is responsible for both.

Customers can call MTC for information on how to service
a monitor.
MTC must verify warranty status and if no contact with Sony,
they will send for technical support.
No RMA number is required. Customers will use the serial
number as a reference.
Dealers pay shipping on the way in, Sony pays on the way
back if unit is store stock and the unit is within it's End of Life date.
Only Sony Service Centres and ASC locations are supplied
with monitor boxes, unless assigned through CSSS to MTC.
The charge for an out-of-warranty monitor box, no matter
what the size, is $25.00 plus applicable taxes and shipping.

When bringing your Monitor into MTC for
repair, make sure to leave your unit in your vehicle.
You will first need to go into the front/main office area
to Customer Service, where MTC will book in your unit. After
your repair is processed, you can then drive around to the
back of the building and Receiving will assist you with
the unit. If you are visiting MTC on a Saturday, you may have to bring the unit in thru the front door.
With respect to all service provided, it is the
customers responsibility to backup the contents of their
hard drive (See owners manual.). This includes any valuable
data they have stored. The contents of their hard drive
may be lost or reformatted in the course of service. Sony
and MTC will not be responsible for any damage to, or loss
of any program, data or information.
Sony Notebooks, Desktops and CLIÉ’S have
a one year manufacturers warranty. However, there are a
small few Notebooks that have a 3 year warranty. Contact
the MTC Call Centre to see which warranty was included with
your Notebook.
For Notebooks/Desktops, customer MUST first call Sony tech
support at 1-888-476-6972 to obtain an event ID number.
Bill of Sale is Mandatory.

This pricing is exclusive of shipping and taxes, customer
is responsible for both.
Customer units sold with accessories, not just bare drives,
are to be shipped in for repair with bill of sale.
Bare drive units are directed to A.S.I. (depending on the model)
CD/RW, CD-ROM's and DVD-ROM's have 1 year Warranties,
and DAT Drives have 2/3 year Warranties. Call MTC for clarifications.
MTC can either use the bill of sale date or manufacturers
date to determine the warranty.

Go ahead pricing rate varies from model to model for DAT
Drives.
