MTC supports Sony Mobile Electronics Dealers
(or M.E. Dealers) with a comprehensive Advance Exchange
program that sends a ‘factory’ refurbished chassis
to the dealer to exchange for the customer’s defective
unit, minimizing downtime. While the exchange process is straightforward, there
are conditions to be met, special warranty programs and other
considerations that manage this program, such as:
Customer-Sold units – Store Stock
or Demo units do not qualify for the Advance exchange program.
Dealer must provide date of purchase on the initial request
and follow up with POP (Proof of Purchase).
Chassis ONLY will be exchanged – No
faceplates, wires or manuals will be sent.
Speakers (XS…), Amplifiers (XM…), Face
Plates, Accessories and some High End products are
not included in the Advance Exchange program.
MTC supports the entire Sony Mobile Electronics line including
SONY and AIWA products.
Outgoing
Customer contacts dealer ("My stereo doesn’t
work").
Dealer verifies warranty and tests system to confirm defect.
Dealer contacts MTC call centre and requests Advance Exchange
unit (Phone at 1-877-779-9929, Fax at 1-800-873-5178, eMail at me@mtcservice.com, or online at www.mtcservice.com/xplod).
MTC Call Centre verifies request meets requirements and
creates Work Order.
MTC Exchange department removes chassis from exchange pool,
ships refurbished unit to dealer.
Dealer exchanges for defective unit and the customer is
taken care of.
Incoming
Dealer must return the defective chassis to MTC within 10
business days.
Dealer puts defective unit in the transportation box–with
paperwork and Proof of Purchase– and returns box to
MTC
Receiving attaches paperwork to appropriate WO and moves
unit to M.E. Service.
Chassis is repaired.
Repaired Chassis is cleaned, repackaged and returned to
exchange pool.

**June 1st, Sony announced the MTC M.E. On-Line program
to its Dealers. 24/7 on line at http://www.mtcservice.com/xplod
or at 877-779-9929.
**Dealers can ‘register’ on line, request an advance
exchange, obtain up-to-date information on which units are
eligible for exchange, as well current availability of each
model.Dealer registers On-Line and the registration gets
sent to me@mtcservice.com.
Dealer completes on-line form and submits request for exchange,
Request for exchange arrives in M.E. Mailbox,
The M.E. Specialist checks mail at least 3 X a day,
The M.E. Specialist then completes exchange request, and
then
The chassis is shipped out to the Dealer.
The purpose of this site is…
To allow dealers to determine the eligibility of a unit,
To allow dealers to request an Advance exchange on line,
and
To provide MTC with accurate Dealer information.
The MTC website requires on line registration that
is authenticated using the applicant’s email address.
Only one Dealer registration can be accepted per location.
All Dealers must contact MTC to get setup within the
ME Xplod Website. You will be given a Username and Pasword
to begin startup.
Once the initial Username is entered, the following information
is requested. Just complete the form, then click register.
Note: all fields must be completed. If not, the
system will reject the application and advise applicant
to provide the missing information.
Once the Register button is clicked, the MTC system sends
an email to the address provided.
Applicant must click on the link provided, within the email,
which will authenticate the application.
If they don’t and then attempt to register, the system
will deny access.
All current Sony Dealers are eligible for the Advance
Exchange Program except:
Future Shop / Best Buy
Canadian Tire
As indicated earlier, ONLY ELIGIBLE CHASSIS can be Advanced
Exchanged. Call MTC @ 1-877-779-9929 to find out which models
are eligible.
Some Models have 2 - 3 Year Warranty
Call Centre is responsible for receiving all Canadian
Tire Requests for RMA forms.
Call Centre receives CTC RMA Request by FAX (No
phone requests will be accepted)
Information provided must be matched against the following
criteria:
- Must use CTC RMA form,
- All information on is complete, including Accy's,
- Request MUST be dated within 7 days of POP date, and the
- Unit must be on list to be eligible for RMA.
